Whippin Piccadilly font

Project URL

Whippin Piccadilly named after a wicked song by Gomez. Each upper and lowercase letter has 4 alternatives, up 4!

Combine that with opentype technology and it can kick out some real random letters. Some letters are rotated one way, some the other. Some are fatter, some are thinner. It looks like a real oddball—I love that.

You will need to enable contextual alternatives in your application. Also, you can access any of the letters in photoshop by using the glyphs panel in photoshop.

The result of all the different characters is that Whippin Piccadilly looks playful and quirky. I love the randomness of the letters it throws out. The alternatives give it a quirky and sometimes mismatched appearance, but that’s part of the charm.

It’s ideal for book covers, posters, and packaging.
