I started creating Lawless over a year ago, drawing it directly into adobe illustrator. I never finished it owing to the fact that I accidentally deleted the file.
Mind the Gap is my latest font creation is out in the wild. Created with a very sharp scalpel and my own fair hands. Taping them down to paper and spraying them with black paint.
I’ve only gone and designed another font. This little beast is called Whippin Piccadilly. It’s named after a song by Gomez. Love that band. Check them out, no seriously check them out.
You would think naming a font would be easy. Yea I did. Sometimes naming a font can be frustrating, you think about it too much and then it becomes an issue. Not with this one. It popped right into my head.
I designed the Mr Chumley font with a Sharpie pen that I use to label freezer bags. Not very, well rock n roll is it?
It just shows that you can get inspired by the most mundane things. Everything is going in this brain of mine regardless if I’m at a gig, doing the shopping or labeling your Chicken Tikka.
So I’ve been on overdrive in the run up to Christmas, going to try and get as many font projects finished off as I can. I’ve still got a few fonts in the pipeline, just need to finish them. Then I can put my feet up and enjoy the xmas spirit.
A new font, yea! Today I’m releasing my new creation Dear Prudence. I’m not going to waffle on about it here, I’m just going to let you see it for yourself.
